Extended Range Diver

Want to extend your bottom time to explore a deep canyon, wreck, or simply enjoy the bottom topography of a sheer wall?

This course provides training and experience required to competently utilise air for dives up to 55 metres that require staged decompression, utilising nitrox mixtures or oxygen during decompression.

Upon successful completion of this course students are qualified to enroll in:

  • TDI Entry Level Trimix Course
  • TDI Advanced Trimix Course

The information covered in Extended Range Nitrox includes:

Classroom - Open Water

  1. Nitrox overview Stage cylinder use
  2. Nitrox diving physiology Gas switching techniques
  3. Advanced OTU CNS% tracking Deployment of
  4. Narcosis decompression buoys
  5. Deco table and dive planning Gas management &
  6. Equipment review/buoyancy control matching techniques
  7. Nitrox cleaning and analysing Decompression
  8. Exam Dive management
  9. 2 deep dives

Equipment Needed

  • Twin set (manifold and O2 cleaned)
  • Stage cylinders of a least 6 litres (O2 cleaned)
  • 3 Regulators, 1 must be O2 cleaned and one must have a 1.5 metre hose, DIN fittings are preferred.
  • Delayed surface marker buoy
  • 2 methods of buoyancy i.e. wings plus dry suit. If stab jac kets are used they must be modified to support the stage bottle.

The qualified TECHNICAL NITROX DIVER may purchase and use any nitrox mix including deco gases up to 80% and also 100% oxygen.

Minimum Age: 18
Experience Level:
Minimum of 100 logged dives, of which 25 must be deeper than 30msw/100ft
Certification as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and TDI Decompression Procedures Diver (or equivalents) are required.
Duration: 3-4 Days
Cost:

£299.00 including manual and registration, but boat dives & gas will be extra.

N.B. We can supply a limited amount of stage bottles and regulators. We can O2 clean and service bottles and regulators. Please phone for quote.
